During this panel discussion and networking event, part of our ongoing Opening Doors To... series, guest speakers in corrections, parole, and homelessness services will explore how their sectors can coordinate to help people overcome housing challenges when reentering society following incarceration.
Individuals reentering the community after incarceration often face barriers to stable housing. With limited income, social stigma, and limited support networks, many are at high risk of returning to homelessness soon after release. Successful reentry requires strong coordination among correctional agencies, parole offices, and homeless service providers to ensure that returning citizens have the resources and guidance they need to rebuild their lives.
These conversations are critical because successful reentry doesn’t happen in isolation. It requires the shared effort of housing providers, service organizations, correctional partners, and community members who understand the barriers returning citizens face. By coming together, we can identify gaps, strengthen coordination, and build a more supportive system that reduces homelessness and promotes long-term stability.
